A magical time, including a teddy bear who talked

The Life of (a boy called) Clive is the true story of my childhood growing up in England in the late 1950s and early 1960s. I had a magical time, including a teddy bear called Big Ted who could talk, just like a real person. Unfortunately, Big Ted spoke in the faintest whisper imaginable. Fortunately, my father had excellent hearing, so he listened to Big Ted and relayed his messages to me.

Whether you're eight or eighty (or somewhere in between), I hope you'll enjoy coming along for the ride and meeting my family and friends along the way. So, pull up a comfy chair and join Big Ted and me as we travel back to a time before supermarkets, mobile phones, the Internet, and video games — when every day seemed to bring a new adventure, every corner held a mystery, and childhood seemed to last forever.

I fell off a gigantic cliff, and then...

Did you ever wonder what it was like to grow up in the swinging 1960s?

More specifically — to grow up as a young boy called Clive at 88 Springfield Road, in the suburb of Millhouses, in the city of Sheffield, in the county of Yorkshire, in the country of England?

If so, this book is for you!
